The Fragrance

Cinnamon bark essential oil from Sri Lanka has a warm, sweet-spicy, and intensely balsamic fragrance. Its scent profile is defined by rich spicy notes with woody, subtly tobacco-like, and fruity amber nuances. Fiery, pungent facets characterize the opening, while the unmistakable aroma of cinnamon unfolds into a warm, enveloping, and sensual fragrance reminiscent of freshly baked pastries, vibrant spice markets, and the comforting atmosphere of winter.

Use in Perfume Composition

Used sparingly in the heart and base notes of a fragrance, cinnamon bark essential oil acts as a warming spicy accent in oriental and gourmand compositions. It beautifully connects floral heart notes with ingredients such as vanilla and amber accords, enhancing both the richness and the sillage of a perfume. A well-known example is the fragrance classic Opium by Yves Saint Laurent.
