The Fragrance
The aroma of dried apricots and cognac. Davana is characterized by its particularly fruity yet floral scent. Herbal and balsamic nuances complement the fragrance profile. The dry-down is woody, reminiscent of vetiver, patchouli, and costus root.
Use in Perfume Composition
Davana is used in heart notes and acts as a fruity-amber modulator in oriental and floral compositions. It rounds out the scent, adding depth and olfactory texture. One example is Jubilation 25 Woman by Amouage. Davana oil is used in Florascent fragrances such as Osmanthus, Églantine, Yuzu Smile, and other Florascent perfume compositions.
Aromatology
Davana oil is known for its emotionally liberating effect. Areas of application include stress and inner blockages. For a balancing blend, davana can be combined with lavender and sandalwood, for example.
