BENZOIN ABSOLUE Aroma Spray
Botanical name: Styrax benzoin, S. tonkinensis
Extraction: Benzoin Absolute is obtained by extracting the resin/gum.
Origin: Laos
The Fragrance
Siam Benzoin Absolute features a warm, balsamic-vanilla signature with a pronounced resinous-sweet density and a subtle, slightly bitter almond-like note. The top note is softly resinous; as the scent develops, a creamy, amber-like, slightly smoky-sweet depth unfolds with a powdery roundness and a long-lasting, enveloping warmth.
Use in Perfume Composition
Benzoin is primarily used in base notes and acts as a fixative in oriental, gourmand, and amber-based fragrance compositions. It enhances sweetness, longevity, and volume, and bridges floral hearts of white floral accords with balsamic bases. A well-known example is Shalimar by Guerlain. Benzoin Absolute is used in Florascent fragrances such as Ksar, Macabah, Vanilla#1, and other Florascent perfume compositions.
